The Lay of Leithian continued

The Lay of Leithian is the finest work of JRR Tolkien, but was unfortunately left unfinished when he died. The poem as it existed at that time was published in 1985 in History of Middle-Earth III: The Lays of Beleriand. Its unfinished nature has been plaguing me for years, and I've decided to write an ending. Please leave comments and suggest improvements as you see them.

Hey Geoff,

In case your curious there's a way to set the line numbers apart from the text in a more formatted manner using a table, but you have to use a nobr object to get it to work. You can see how it's done by reading the source in my page at http://layofleithian.blogspot.com/.

You could also consider that site be be one very long comment on the text you've chosen. :)

Best,

-J
